After 10 years in the travel industry and traveling the world, Mariska pursued her interest in newborns and became a maternity nurse, assisting during home deliveries and providing post-natal care to mother and baby. Following her fascination with the human body, she took up massage and from the very first touch, she connected.
Mariska is knowledgeable, client-oriented and genuine caring therapist with a broad set of skills, which she integrates into one effective treatment. She holds a diploma in Remedial Massage, an associate degree in Chinese and Western Reflexology, a certificate IV in Swedish/Relaxation massage, a certificate in Pregnancy Massage and is Shambhala Reiki Master. Currently, she studies to become a Medical Massage therapist.
Mariska has relaxed people in a day spa, improved posture and range of motion in a multi-disciplinary setting of chiropractors and alleviated pain and tension alongside a physiotherapist, leaving clients relaxed, impressed and looking forward to the next session. She often supports others in the community by lending her hands to various charities.
Having always loved babies, she also is a certified infant massage instructor and paediatric consultant, training new parents and health professional about baby massage in introduction sessions and courses.
Mariska continuously expands her knowledge and professionals skills through additional training and self-development. She stays up to date with all the latest research and industry news or developments through her memberships with the Association of Massage Therapist (AMT) and the Reflexology Association of Australia (RAoA).
Additionally, Mariska has a big passion for traveling and wildlife. Knowing how important it is to take time out for yourself and stay well balanced in today’s busy life, you’ll find her hiking as a volunteer guide in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park, scuba diving Sydney’s waters or exploring new places if she is not in the clinic.
She looks forward to welcoming you and is available by appointment.
